The TrueDepth camera system within your iPhone identifies your patient's foot and lower extremity using a flood illuminator and an infrared camera. Subsequently, a dot projector emits over 30,000 invisible infrared dots onto the area. Leveraging the collected data, including the infrared image and dots, neural networks formulate a detailed mathematical model of your patient's foot and lower extremity.

The 3D scanning process is initiated by a Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser (VCSEL) time of flight sensor on your phone, measuring distances to calibrate sensor exposure times. As you move the phone above your patient's foot and leg, infrared light floods the area before a dot matrix is projected onto it. Combining infrared and visible imaging sensors map out these dots meticulously to generate an accurate and detailed 3D scan.
